As part of the V-module "Photo-oxidative Stress in Plants (V-422)", our students headed to the botanical garden for a hands-on field session, collecting leaves to analyze plant pigment contents and using the MultiSpeQ device (https://photosynq.org) to analyze a variety of photosynthetic parameters. A bright day out for learning how plants avoid light stress in nature!

The large-scale experiment at NPEC in Wageningen, inside growth chamber G6, is officially underway. With 405 genotypes and 1,296 plants, this marks an exciting milestone for our team. In addition to the dedicated researchers in Wageningen, Jorina Thelen and Zhifeng Lu have provided invaluable support to Jacqueline in advancing the TRR341–A14 project
A lot has happened this week at the Institute of Molecular Photosynthesis.Upper left: Today, we said goodbye to our visiting professor Dr. Zhifeng Lu with good food and drinks. Those were truly special days for our PhD student Jacqueline Fröhnert at her first conference in Cologne. Many inspiring people, fascinating research topics, new connections and ideas for collaboration all came together at the TRR341 Cologne Spring Meeting, where she presented her poster ‘Exploring the Genetic Basis and Ecological Significance of Photosynthetic Dynamics in Arabidopsis thaliana’.
Our PhD Student Juan Carlos Dávila Frantzen won the poster price at Botanik-Tagung in Halle 2024.
