At the Institute of Molecular Photosynthesis in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf a post as a Scientific Employee (m/f/d) (65,00 %, pay grade 13 TV-L) is to be occupied at the earliest possible date.is to be occupied at the earliest possible date. The employment is initially limited for a period of four years. It is a qualification position in the sense of the Act of Academic Fixed-Term Contract (Wissenschaftsvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG), which is to promote the scientific qualification of the employee.PhD thesis position in the DFG-funded subproject “Comparative exploration of KEA3 function in PMF partitioning and photopro-tection” of the newly funded research group “Dynamic Regulation of Proton Motor Force in Photosynthesis”. Within this research group, short term laboratory exchanges will be encouraged to learn new techniques from the experts. In addition, regular meetings will take place to share results and knowledge. The cooperation partners are located at several German locations, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Japan.

Your tasks:
•Molecular biology lab work
•Protein biochemistry (purification of proteins andcharacterization of protein metabolite interactions)
•Work with bacteria, algae and plants
•Data analysis
•Preparation of scientific articles for international journalsand conferences

Our requirements:
•A completed scientific university education (M.Sc. / M.A. /Diploma / Magister) in the field of Biochemistry or related disciplines
•Experience with protein purification
•Genuine interest in photosynthesis research
•Very good knowledge of the English language, both written andspoken
•Ability to work in a team

The pay scale grouping will be, depending on the personal qualification of the applicant, up to pay grade 13 TV-L. In principle, the employment can also take place part-time, if no compelling official reasons are opposed in an individual case. Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf aims at increasing the percentage of employed women.
